WHO IS?

After graduating from college, I moved to Los Angeles get out of the city I was born and because I was curious about how the business side of the film industry worked. After working for a tier 2 production company for two years, I had learned enough to no longer be curious. However, it inspire me to read about media literacy and the wide range of effects it has on its viewers. A few years later, a like-minded childhood friend and I found ourselves teaching our first video production class for our non-profit media center, SPY HOP PRODUCTIONS ( spyhop.org ). 4 years after its inception, we were receiving funding from entities such as National Endowment of the Arts, John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, Adobe, the Sundance Institute, to name a few and it is still considered to be the premiere youth media center in the country.  In order to get to that level, Rick was in charge of fundraising and grant writing, while I taught myself how to storyboard, shoot, and edit video as well as learn the Adobe products that were available at that time (photoshop illustrator, etc.). After co-managing Spy Hop for 7 years, I was ready leave it in the hands of my partner and venture into the world of professional media production.  Fortunately, the skills I had developed with Spy Hop (from writing scripts to project management; learning how to shoot and edit video and taking on the challenge of building the media lab), made it a  relatively smooth transition.  Since then, I have been fortunate work on a wide range of projects for different kinds of companies, directors and individuals (corporate clients like Macmillan, McGraw Hill Publishing, DBX, Crown and Harman Music Group to the HBO Family, the State of Utah; various creative agencies, the University of Utah, and non profits like the Sundance Institute to HBO Family. This means I have always  always up to date with the full Adobe Creative Suite, Ableton Live, Pro Tools (and the basics of the DaVinci Suite); I also keep up with the constant evolution of contemporary marketing strategies and job management software, such as:  Nimble; ClickUp, Paymo and Flow.
